Refugee Holistic Well-being Project Office for Refugee Resettlement (ORR) | Ethnic Community Self-Help Program
Rupani Foundation USA proudly leads a comprehensive and culturally responsive initiative in Houston, supporting refugee families through a multi-dimensional model focused on education, health, mental well-being, and community empowerment.
Early Childhood Development (ECD)
Recognizing the language, religious, and cultural barriers faced by newly arrived refugee families, Rupani Foundation USA designed its Early Childhood Development (ECD) services to holistically support young mothers and their children. These services promote physical, cognitive, social-emotional, and language development, laying a strong foundation for lifelong learning.
Our work goes beyond the classroom. Community roundtables and town hall meetings created a safe space for refugees to voice concerns and gain access to essential services, including healthcare and education. Through our trusted health referral system, families were connected to comprehensive care ranging from screenings to preventive and ongoing treatments.

Health & Hygiene Education
Parallel to ECD, we offer health education sessions on reproductive health, family planning, prenatal and postnatal care. These are designed to promote maternal well-being and informed decision-making through every stage of pregnancy and early motherhood.

Mental Health Support
Recognizing the psychological toll of displacement, trauma, and cultural transition, we provide confidential access to mental health support and counseling. In 2023 alone, 230 individuals—72% of whom were women—participated in these life-changing sessions.
Parental Workshops:
Navigating Cultural Norms

To support smoother integration, we conduct workshops introducing parents to the host country’s cultural expectations and family dynamics, helping normalize emotional wellness in a new societal context.
