Early Childhood Impact Fund (ECIF)
This program was launched in 2023 with the financial support of the Harris County in partnership with the Hackett Center for Mental Health and the Children’s Museum Houston. This three-year initiative aims to improve relational health between caregivers and young children, build caregiver knowledge and skills for nurturing interactions, and address common feelings of isolation and stress within families facing multiple systemic barriers.
Informed Parents Program
The Informed Parents program at Rupani Foundation empowers caregivers with practical knowledge to support holistic child development. It emphasizes the importance of responsive parenting and nurturing strong parent-child relationships. Through interactive sessions, parents learn how to foster emotional, social, and cognitive growth in young children. Activities focus on brain development, effective communication, and positive discipline strategies, supported by engaging demonstrations, role-plays, and culturally relevant examples. The program equips caregivers with tools to create enriching home learning environments using low- and no-cost materials. It also builds caregiver confidence by deepening their understanding of developmental milestones and their critical role in a child’s early years. Informed Parents is a foundational step toward building thriving, resilient families and stronger communities.

As part of the ECD program, we also provide wraparound services based on the needs expressed by the parents. These complementary services include information sessions on perinatal healthcare, early brain development, relational health, health and wellness, nutrition, and hygiene. These information sessions are complemented by establishing peer-to-peer support structures, such as Mother’s Action Committees

Mothers Action Committee
Mothers Action Committee (MAC) is a community-based group of empowered mothers who come together to advocate for the well-being of children and families. These committees play a vital role in driving grassroots change and promoting social development in underserved communities.

Fathers Leaderships Groups
Not to be sidelined, ‘Father’s leadership groups’ were formed to support the holistic Human development. Topics were selected with a keen eye for cultural sensitivities, focusing on traditional male roles, responsibilities, and the emotional burdens carried therein. These forums were careful to respect the nuanced boundaries of gender and religion. Our intervention did not limit itself to emotional wellness alone. Legal aid, educational services, and other essential resources were rolled out gradually. Our aim was to transition from external advisors to integral community allies.
